Bread and Roses is a déli-café and bakery in Paris, first one opened on 2004 Rue Fleurus just behind Luxembourg garden. they now have a second one that is more restaurant Rue Boissy D'anglas at the corner of Rue saint Honoré.

The concept is between a fine grocery and a new york déli and having as a speciality organic bread. At the back of the restaurant there's the bread and take away corner.

Wednesday, winter sales started in Paris, I have to admitt that I'm a bit a fashion victim so of course even being under water at work I found time for sales with my best friend Jen.

After queuing, walking, shopping we realise that we forgot to eat.... and it was almost 3pm we decided to try the new Bread and roses.

the design is simple with nice roses on the tables.

the menu is nice, much more choice that the first shop Rue Fleurus.

Jen took the Pastrami sandwich that is really excellent, I don't know where they get their pastrami...

Mum ordered the foie gras and french green beans salad that is delicious and really well presented, the foie gras is enrolled with duck magret.

and I tried the Duck and cepes Parmentier, good, I appreciate the fact that it was balanced 1/3 mashed potatoes and 2/3 duck what often on restaurant is not respected... much more potatoes than meat ;-)

to finish we shared an amazing choco/ caramel pie

we paid 93 euros with a diet coke and a big bottle of water.

If you are shopping around saint honoré, madeleine.... I recommand you to eat there, much better thn Ladurée Rue Royale.
