Who is Yves Candeborde? Gourmets should certainly remember him from La régalade few years ago it was one of the best if not the best bistrot in Paris on the 14th district then he sold it and is at Relais de l'Odéon, very small bistrot, only gourmet knew that the owner and chef is Candeborde. But not anymore because Candeborde is one of the 2 chefs on the famous TV show Master chef!!!!!

I went to the Relais at the beginning of september before it becames crowded and as Ralph's impossible to get a booking wich is already not an easy affair regarding the number of seats they have!!!

it was really good. at night it's a fixed menu at 50 euros and the ratio quality/price is really attracting.

we had to start as amuse bouche some crispy crocket. amazing.pork crocket, but for people not eating pork like me you can ask for salmon crocket with a kind of tartare sauce over it and alfafa.

and also a kind of crab terrine. that was excellent even if I'm not a terrine and jelly lover.

the starter was a cold beetroot soup with fish egg. not bad

then on the menu there was a pork foot ravioli but I asked for more salmon crispy crocket.

to follow a tuna filet from saint Jean Luz roasted and a a salad of peas with sesame.

then a piece of beef from Aquitaine, with a vanilla and wine sauce potatoe purée.

and what is really nice at le comptoir for cheese fans is the cheese tray. they bring an antire cheese tray per table.

the dessert was the only thing so so!!!

the mint sherbet delicious as a moroccon mint tea but the rest nothing to die for.
